About Us
uBuhle Bethu Designs was born out of resilience and a dream to uplift others. In 2018, while living in a shack and working night shifts as a surveillance officer, I embarked on a journey to create a platform that would help young people find jobs. My journey began when I attended a program recommended by JASA, a recruitment company. There, I learned how to create websites, and it sparked an idea within me: I wanted to start a company that could help young people gain the skills needed for employment.
Seeing so many young people in my township and through JASA struggling to find work was heart-wrenching. I knew that website creation was a valuable skill, so I registered the business with the hope of one day teaching others and helping them navigate the job market through uBuhle Bethu. Originally envisioned as a recruitment company, I soon realized that starting from scratch meant I had to wear many hats. With no funds to hire help, I registered the business myself, designed my own logo, and built our social media presence.
In those early days, I learned not just how to build a business, but how to help others do the same. The name "uBuhle Bethu Designs" holds a special place in my heart. It was inspired by twins born next door to the shack we rented—Buhle and Bethu. Tragically, Buhle passed away at just three months old. Her name, alongside her brother's, became the foundation of our company's identity. "uBuhle Bethu" means "our beauty," a reminder of the beauty we strive to find in life, and a nod to my own name, Beauty.
